Hi I’m Kylee, dog lover and owner of Spring 2 Action.

Are you bringing a new puppy home or are struggling with any issue with your dog, please give me a call or contact me via email. Spring 2 Action have programs which suit dogs of all breeds and ages.

Growing up, my family always owned dogs, with the first being Weimaraner’s. After our Weimaraner’s, my mum went on to own an English Springer Spaniel, followed by Golden Retrievers and my dad went on to own a German Shorthaired Pointer. Some of my first memories of being around dogs when I was growing up, were being at either a Dog Show or an Obedience Trial. My dad would be in the show ring with one of our Weimaraner’s, whilst my mum was either taking obedience classes or competing at obedience trials. I remember when I was younger, I would go with my mum when she would be instructing at the local obedience club and whilst she was instructing, I was allowed to take the other instructors dogs around the agility course.

When I left home and eventually got my own dog, a beautiful English Springer Spaniel who I called Oakley. Trying to be the dutiful fur mamma, I thought I had to be, I enrolled in the traditional dog obedience classes and was really struggling to get Oakley to progress in the levels. There were many nights I would be in tears and on the phone to my Mum saying, “I can’t do this”, “Oakley deserves better”, “What am I doing wrong”. After around 9 months of feeling like a failure at obedience class, I decided we would take a break and reflect if the classes were right for us or not.

When Oakley was 12 months old, we had also started Agility classes. At Agility classes, I would really struggle to keep Oakley’s focus and she would constantly take off when we would attempt a mini course. After about 6 months of trying to figure out where I was going wrong, the President of our club suggested we have a look at Games Based Training (Concept Training). Going back and forth for a few months on whether I would give this challenge a go, I went, "why not, what have I got to lose".

I discovered a new style of dog training which was taking the world by storm. This new style was called concept dog training, which is a force and fear free method and is based around playing games with your dog.

Concept Training changed mine and Oakley’s world and within a couple of months I discovered I AM a great mum and Oakley became this amazing bombproof dog that progressed from level 1 to level 3 at Agility in a matter of months. I never thought dog training could be so much FUN for both me and Oakley and it was all thanks to simple 3-minute games, played 2-3 times a day and Games Based Training.

Through Games Based Training, I went on to complete a number of other courses and rediscovered my passion for dog training. After completing a 14 day introduction to dog training challenge, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a Concept training Dog Trainer course. Whilst completing the course, I realised I wanted to spread the word about Concept Dog Training and wanted to share the knowledge and skills I had developed to the wider dog owning community and this is how Spring 2 Action came to life.

At the beginning of 2023, I also completed my Canine First Aid training which has provide me the knowledge to provide assistance in any emergency situation during all my training sessions.

From the beginning of 2023, I started to provide private in-home training sessions to me clients in the southern & eastern suburbs of Perth.  At this time, I also started to instruct the Puppy classes at the Agility Club i trained at with Oakley.
